Open Class Rules
- AWD Open Class
- FWD Open Class
- RWD Open Class
- OPEN Class cars do not need to be currently registered for street use.
- Transmission and/or clutch may be upgraded with aftermarket parts.
- Sequentially shifting transmissions of any kind are allowed.
- Differential and final drive are open and unrestricted.
- Engine upgrades are open and unrestricted.
- Engine swaps are allowed.
- Carbon Fiber and other light weight material (non-OEM) Hoods, Trunks/Hatches/Fenders/Doors/Roof permitted.
- Full Carbon Fiber body work is allowed.
- Full under trays are allowed
- Convertibles with hard tops can utilize Carbon Fiber/Aluminum/Fiberglass hard tops.
- Removal of OEM convertible hardware and equipment is permitted.
- OPEN Class vehicles are permitted to have fully Gutted interiors
- Replacement of drivers and passenger seat with aftermarket seats is permitted. Both front seats must remain.
- Snell 2005 or higher rated helmet required.
- All drivers in OPEN Class must wear a full fire suit with a minimum SFI rating of SFI 3.2A/1
- A tow hook or tow strap must be installed on the front of the vehicle prior to being allowed on track. The tow hook/strap must be properly marked so it is easy to locate by the safety personnel.
- All OPEN Class vehicles must have a Fire Extinguisher mounted within the cockpit of the vehicle, within reach of the driver, or a fire suppression system in place.
- Aerodynamics are open and unrestricted
- Exhaust must pass the front axel
- Radiator replacement is open and unrestricted.
- Vehicles must use the OEM front and rear shock towers in the OEM locations.
- Modifications and adjustment to control arms, toe links, camber and caster is open and unrestricted.
- The OEM floor plan, firewall and unibody must remain stock. No modification is allowed except for the installation of a fuel cell.
- All OPEN Class vehicles are required to use DOT approved tires with UTQG tread wear ratings of 40 and above.
- Brake modifications are unrestricted.
- FIA Safety rules and/or SCCA, NASA, Formula D, Rally Car sanctioned rules can also apply to the OPEN CLASS.
- Competition Vehicles will be determined as competing vehicles from various forms of auto racing. ETA will recognize all sanctioned competition vehicles as long as they meet the safety requirements of the sanctioned racing series they are active in.
